The world is a beautiful place with adventures around every corner but unfortunately it’s too vast and expansive to explore in one lifetime. This summer when you’re planning adventures and retreats around the world keep this interesting list of facts in mind about unbelievable places that you never knew existed.

In the middle of the Peruvian desert sits a literal oasis near Huacachina. As you ride into the tourist town it almost seems too good to be true until you slide into the cool lake and stare out onto the sandy horizon in all directions.

# 3  Capuchin Crypt

Visit a really creepy crypt in Italy, hidden under a 400 year old church. The walls are covered in ornate patterns and designs made out of the bones of nearly 3,700 corpses. This crypt is unlike any other and the exact inspiration behind the skeletal showcase is unknown.

# 4  The Door to Hell

This burning crater in Derweze, Turkmenistan was created by drilling geologists and the accidental discovery was expected to burn out in only a few days but it continues to burn four decades later. If you’re more of a daredevil you have to stand on the edge of ‘hell’ at night for an unbelievable effect.

# 5   Magnetic Hill

A Canadian hill claims to defy gravity because you can put your car in neutral in a specified place and it looks and feels like your car rolls up the hill by itself! Though it’s just an optical illusion it’s great fun and worth the trip!
